Your safety is our priority

Trained lifeguards supervise all waterfront activities and we send a lifeguard and First Aid-certified staff member on every trip. Any trip lasting longer than 3 days has a certified Wilderness First Aid staff member. We have a full-time nurse on staff, and our caretaker Kevin Rasmussen and his wife Barb are both EMTs. Kevin also happens to be the local fire chief!

Medications at camp

The Camp Nurse will keep and dispense all medications at camp during meals, at bedtime, or at other specified times. When campers participate in an off-site trip, a designated senior staff member will keep and dispense medications as instructed by the Camp Nurse.

NEW IN 2024 In our ongoing commitment to meet the needs of our campers who require medication while at camp, as well as to comply with state regulations regarding medication dispensing for summer camps, we require that:

  1. ALL FAMILIES, REGARDLESS OF TRAVEL ARRANGEMENTS, MUST SHIP medications via UPS or FedEx to arrive one week before camp begins.
  2. Send ALL MEDICATIONS including pills, inhalers, epi-pens, topical creams, etc. clearly labeled in the original packaging in a gallon Ziploc bag
  3. The camper’s name should be clearly marked in Sharpie on the Ziploc bag. The bag must also contain the medication form (found on page 7 of the Parent’s Handbook), which gives dosage time and quantity.
  4. All medications must be fully documented on the Health History & Exam in your CampMinder account.
  5. Vitamins (gummy, or otherwise) must be prescribedby a physician. Please call us with any special concerns.
