Mike believed in Camp
In 1950 as a 10-year-old boy, he started attending Camp Highlands for Boys, and after starting his career in education, bought into Highlands, becoming the director in 1963.
Under Mike Bachmann’s leadership, Camp Highlands became a premier midwest residential camp, teaching young men the characteristics of perseverance, initiative and pep (just to name a few) and that “if you will, you can.”
Continuing the legacy
Mike Bachmann was the epitome of the Worthwhile Man. Donations to the Mike Bachmann Scholarship Fund, via the Illinois ACA, ensure that the Highlands tradition established in 1904 will live on for generations to come. Your contributions honor Mike’s memory and ensure the legacy of Highlands continues for the next 100 years.
