A trip for every boy

Highlands offers an extensive tripping program based on age and skill – and is a keystone of the Highlands experience that every boy will take an age-appropriate trip. These trips foster deep connections between your son and the natural world, build confidence and will challenge him to step outside of his comfort zone.

Where will you go?

Cubs (8-10 years): Weekly overnights

Colts (10-11 years): 3-day canoe trip on local lakes

Juniors (12-13 years): 3-day hiking trip in the Porcupine Mountains

Seniors (14-16 years): 4 to 9-day trips in the wilderness of northern Wisconsin and Minnesota. Depending on availability, boys have the opportunity to take canoe trips in the Boundary Waters of Minnesota, hiking trips across Isle Royale National Park or through Pictured Rocks National Lakeshore or sailing trips in Lake Superior around the Apostle Islands.
